Lockerbie Signs for 2019/20

The Solway Sharks are happy to announce the signing of Ruairi Lockerbie for the 2019/20 season in the NIHL and SNL.
Ruairi is a player who has come through the Solway Sharks junior club before moving to OHA in Canada to continue his development and graduate high school while there and came back last season to register 55 points in 12 games in the U20 league and 9 points from 11 SNL games. Lockerbie also played 3 games for the Sharks last season and impressed in all 3 games and recorded 6 assists to highlight his playmaking ability and ended the season representing Scotland U19’s against England in Sheffield.
Ruairi is a young player with tremendous potential and will be looking to make an immediate impact and showcase his ability on a consistent basis in the NIHL and SNL and we are delighted to have him step up full time with the Sharks.
Head Coach Martin Grubb stated “I have known Ruairi for a long time and know the undoubted ability he possesses. He is skilled, sees the ice well and can make things happen when he’s on the puck and I think he will do a great job for us this year. I thought he showed last year that he can play at this level and make an impact and I am expecting him to continue improving and contributing points as the season progresses. It’s always nice to have players who have developed their game here and I look forward to working with Ruairi”.
Lockerbie comments “I’m excited to get the season going with the sharks. I feel like it’s been a long off-season and I’m ready to get back at it. Playing a few games last season was a great experience for me and I am excited to show further what I can do. I think it will be a good season, and look forward to playing in front of great fans”.
Ruairi Lockerbie will wear the number 9 jersey.
