The Building Craftsmen Dumfries Solway Sharks are delighted to announce the return of former fans favourite James Hutchinson in the role of General Manager.
James is widely thought of as one of the best Sharks defencemen of recent times and will be fondly remembered for the huge part he played in the last Sharks treble. James was a player who came to the club with huge experience in the game and was always part of the leadership group here and very well respected at the club and was very keen to make the move into a management role and we are delighted he has chosen the Sharks to start that journey.
On the new GM role James commented “ I am extremely excited and proud to be part of the Sharks organisation again. I enjoyed every minute of my time as a player with the club and I’m sure it’s going to be just as much fun in my new role, we have an excellent coaching and management team already in place and I will look to add my knowledge and experience of the game to assist in making the Sharks not only the best team in our division but also the most exciting to watch.
We have an amazing crop of young talent as well as experienced, quality senior players on our doorstep. Getting the most out of those guys and filling the slots around them is a very exciting prospect and I cannot wait to get started building something special with the coaches. I know the club has been lucky to have good General Managers in the past and I will look to build on the work already done and I cannot wait until September and to see you all back in the Shark Tank!
Chairman Ian Bryden was delighted to secure James’s services and added “the board would like to welcome James back to the Sharks family and we are all looking forward to working with him. He has great experience in the game and we are excited to see how the new management team build and take the team forward. We would like to place on record our thanks to Michelle Mitchell for all the work she put in to the club as the GM and wish her well for the future and we hope everyone will get behind James and the team as we get ever closer to the season”.
