Thank you Peter Gapa

The Building Craftsmen Dumfries Solway Sharks would like to wish Slovakian forward and fans favourite, Peter Gapa the best of luck as he joins French team Montpellier Vipers. The Slovak forward and the club have been in constant contact during this Covid pandemic and had an agreement in principle for the return to the Sharks, however with the uncertainty around the sport and various restrictions on travel it was agreed that Peter should take an opportunity if it came his way. Sharks Head Coach, Martin Grubb commented “I know this will be hugely disappointing to our supporters but at this time the right thing to do was to work with Peter and help get him a job so he can continue his career. I can tell you that it was a very tough decision for him as he loves it here and really had hoped we would be in a position to play and he would be back here, but at the moment he needs to do what is right for him and we fully support that. We wish him all the best in Montpellier but I can tell you that we are in constant contact and we hope this isn’t the last we have seen of Gaps in a Sharks jersey as we would both like to see him back in the future. Peter wanted to thank everyone for all their support, hopes you all stay safe and hopes to see everyone soon. Thank you Peter Gapa on behalf of everyone involved with the club and we will be following your season with interest”. We know it’s not the news our loyal fans will be wanting to read but we wanted to keep everyone updated and we hope to have more exciting and positive news to share with everyone in the near future. Stay safe and see you soon
